"I feel so honoured to receive this amazing award. It means so much to me!!! I want to thank all my staff and my fans who have supported me so far. Working as an actor in Asia, I'm impressed by the beautiful culture and the kindness of people in different countries. Entertainment has the power to connect people across borders and create excitement, just like sports. But I know as neighboring countries, we sometimes face difficulties; still we can hopefully resolve issues together by trying to understand each other more and more. And I hope that I can continue to take part in strengthening the bonds between Asian countries through our work. Despite the tense relationship between Japan and South Korea at the time, Haruma courageously made a personal appearance at the 14th Annual Seoul International Drama Awards on Aug 28, 2019 to receive the Asian Star Award, where his influence and success in the entertainment industry was recognized. With no cue card (how impressive!!!), Haruma proudly presented the touching speech in English, delivering his genuine gratitude to his working teams and his fans, his compassion for humankind, and his sincere desire to promote harmony and peace across nations!!! Haruma admitted afterwards that he regretted stuttering due to nervousness, but promised to do a better job next time if given the opportunity and honour in the future. A reflection of his humbleness, his kindness, and undeniable humanity, which made Haruma distinct and stand out in the crowds. There are many pretty faces in the entertainment world, and no doubt Haruma is gorgeous!!! But to me, a pretty face doesn't mean much if the person has no "inside". It's Haruma's remarkable artistic abilities, his passion for the profession, his continuous strive for excellence, his noble character, his unique charisma that caught my eyes and captured my heart!!! You cannot find another one like him - Miura Haruma is indeed the One & Only!!!
Haruma was full of hope and enthusiasm as he was looking forward to multiple new projects and challenges. He had been working diligently towards his dream of stepping on the Broadway stage one day. It makes absolutely no sense that he would give up his dream all of a sudden and end his own life! In fact, Haruma was working on "Kanekoi '' up to the last day of his life, the drama where power abuse and harassment took place!!! Over the last 3 long years, AMUSE has persistently refused to provide the incident's chronological sequence and Haruma's relevant work schedule details. Why? Why can't the details be shared, if there's nothing to hide? What happened at the "Kanekoi" filming site on July 16 &17, 2020? AMUSE & TBS have the obligation and responsibility to explain!!!
