Anyone who watched the TBS drama Kanekoi and has paid attention to the settings and surroundings would have noticed that there are tons of gaslighting tricks, designed for the purpose of harassing Haruma!!! Gaslighting is a form of psychological abuse and harassment in which a person or group causes someone to question their own sanity, memories, or perception of reality. Gaslighting is meant to provoke self-doubt which is often harmful to a victim's mental health. It can lead to confusion, loss of confidence and self-esteem, and one's mental stability.
Please take a look at the drama crank-in video link attached, if you're familiar with Haruma you'll recognize right away that he wasn't behaving like his normal-self. The abnormal behaviour came from his fear of the directors and power harassments at the drama filming site. What I see is an uneasy Haruma, feeling uncomfortable and having difficulties fitting in the environment. He was trying hard to hide his fears and insecurity by smiling, and by pretending he was having fun. Sadly, the harassment and gaslighting tactics caused detrimental effects on Haruma's health. His physical appearance towards the end was truly heartbreaking - he was pale and unnaturally skinny; he looked sick and unenergized. Despite the sufferings from the power harassments, Haruma managed to maintain his mental strength, dive into the character and deliver his usual brilliant performance!!! Miura Haruma is indeed the ONE & ONLY!!! He fought back bravely and showed his abusers that nothing could influence his abilities and his passion for acting, not even gaslighting!!! What an amazing actor, a courageous fighter, and a notably determined man!!! A perfect demonstration of a high level of work ethics, proficiencies and professionalism!!! Let me emphasize: WE BELIEVE IN HARUMA, that he did not commit suicide!!! There's no way Haruma would have ended his own life in the middle of a drama!!!
Had AMUSE lived up to being a caring "family" head and responsible employer, they would have interrupted the filming, reported and condemned the harassment!!! AMUSE could and should have gotten Haruma off the cast, prior to the shooting of the horrifying and highly suspicious "Futon scene", allowing Haruma to rest until he's fully recovered from the inflicted harm. But on the contrary, AMUSE ignored Haruma's health condition and let him continue working!!! What actually happened during and after the filming of that "Futon scene" is one BIG question still hanging in the air!!! Needless to say, AMUSE is guilty of negligence as an employer!!! Believe it or not, how the agency handled the abuse at the drama site was not a total surprise, because AMUSE have been treating Haruma like a slave!!! Haruma had an overcrowded schedule and was working nonstop. Haruma once mentioned in an interview that he didn't have a single day off for a long time and would love to have a little break!!! Evidently, this is a typical example of power abuse in the entertainment industry!!!
While power abuse & harassment and negligence were involved and clearly major factors contributing and leading to the incident, the police failed to pursue proper investigations, hastily closed the case, and let those parties get away with the horrible crimes they committed!!! Aren't the police supposed to be protecting the victims??? Why are they protecting the criminals instead???
